The baby wrap is the simplest and most versatile of all baby carriers. It is also suggested that it supports the spine and hip better than other carriers. The weight that a wrap can hold depends on the person carrying the baby.
Their are two types of wraps:
A wraparound carrier is the most comfortable, secure and supportive baby sling carrier. A stretchy baby wrap is more comfortable than woven cotten wraps. However woven wraps are more expensive, but more versatile. Using wraps as baby sling carriers can be hard to learn at first, but most people can learn to do a comfortable front carry in a short space of time. Back carrying in a wrap does take lots of practice, but it is super comfortable.
Wrap-around carriers or wraps are basically a long continuous piece of fabric that you tie around yourself and baby strapping the baby to you. There are a multitude of carrying positions with a wrap. When worn in a two-shoulder carry, wraps distribute the weight over your whole body and create a secure baby carrier.
baby wraps can be used in many positions including front, hip, and back.
