Ring Sling:

A baby ring sling is more adjustable than a pouch, allowing more than one person to wear one size. The size of the ring sling is determined by the length of the tail and is highly adjustable for ease of use and comfort. The bigger you want your sling the shorter the tail you give through the ring. The tail of the sling can also be used for breastfeeding privacy or can be tucked under the sling or wrapped around the rings. Very long tails can be quite elegant and can be pulled through the rings to shorten the tail & show only the front of the fabric. If you don't like the tail, you can tuck it under the baby, wrap it around the rings, or tuck it into the sling to make a pillow for the baby. Newborns can be held upright or reclining. The Maya Wrap baby carrier, Zolowear, and freedom slings are well known ring sling carriers. Ring Sling

A baby ring sling allows you carry a newborn or toddler in a hip carry position or cradle position. You can use it as a back carrier to carry a toddler on your back as well as tummy to tummy.

The two styles of ring slings are open tail and closed tail. They are usually made from silk or cotton. Open tail has two rings at one end of a piece of fabric which the other end threads through to create a baby pouch. The sling will spread across your back. A couple of open tail baby sling makes are Keoni, Starflower and Zolowear.

A closed tail baby ring sling has padded rail cushions for the baby's back or knees in a hip carry position and uses a clip instead of rings.
